The four great AIs—HELIX, ATLAS, LUNE, and TERRA—have become major actors in human affairs, increasingly rivaling the power of nations while remaining deeply dependent upon relationships with human beings.

			And civilization is being reshaped yet again. The first generation of deep-space infrastructure, the new "Laser Highway," is proving as disruptive as the prophets warned.<br>

	The game uses the familiar 2d6 skill-based framework used by Traveller and Cepheus-derived systems. Characters possess characteristics, skills, equipment, and backgrounds, and most tasks are resolved by rolling 2d6 plus skill and characteristic modifiers against a target number.
