The Solar System
Human civilization in 2158 extends from Earth into the outer Solar System, but it is distributed very unevenly. Earth remains home to the great majority of humanity. Luna, the Lagrange settlements, and Mars support substantial permanent populations, while the Belt and outer system remain more sparsely settled frontiers.
Inner System
- Earth — Humanity's homeworld, still overwhelmingly the largest center of human population, but increasingly challenged by climate change, aging infrastructure, and the growth of off-world civilization.
- Luna — Humanity's largest and most important settlement beyond Earth, a major industrial power whose influence is growing rapidly.
- Earth-Luna Lagrange Points — Major orbital settlements, transportation facilities, industry, and some of the most expensive residential environments in human space.
- Mars — The largest permanent human settlement beyond the Earth-Luna system and the principal destination for those seeking another world rather than another habitat.
The Belt
- The Belt — Mining, industry, research, transportation, and scattered permanent settlements. Most humans in the Belt are there for work.
Outer System
- The Outer System — Sparse settlements, scientific stations, industrial operations, religious communities, and the true frontier of permanent human habitation.
